Asia Pacific Screen Association

Brisbane Marketing's APSA and BAPFF team coordinates the city's most prestigious film events.

Asia Pacific Screen Awards

From the glamorous and multicultural black carpet, to the sophisticated ceremony every year, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is a night of celebration to acclaim Asia Pacific filmmaking – honouring films that best reflect their cultural origins and the people behind this excellence.

Established in 2008, APSA brings together 500 of the region’s most respected names in film. This influential alumni of filmmakers grows by about 100 each year with the induction of APSA nominees, international jury and nominations council members.

The awards represent the world’s fastest-growing film region encompassing 70 countries, 4.5 billion people and half the world's film output. Over the years,  thousands of films from Asia Pacific countries and areas have competed in the APSAs, films that  clearly demonstrate a rich slate of diversity – each telling its own story, in its own way, from its country of origin.

Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival

The Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival is a high-calibre film event showcasing the filmmakers, films and documentaries of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) and the region it represents.

The event features screenings, themed programs, filmmaker introductions and Q&A sessions and is an exciting opportunity for locals and visitors to experience many of our region's best films and hear from some of the stars and filmmakers who will be in Brisbane to attend APSA.
