Thank you to the Hilton for a successful Business Networking event, a fantastic opportunity to network in the new year and to see the venue’s latest refurbishments. Thank you to Staging Connections whose lighting created a beautiful atmosphere for the evening which saw 150 convention and tourism members networking with fellow industry and Brisbane Marketing staff. The energy in the room suggests it’s going to be a hugely successful year for our great city.
Il Centro celebrates 25 Years
Earlier this month, veteran restauranteurs Andy and Marcia Georges’ restaurant Il Centro celebrated 25 years. Open Day specials such as the famous Sand Crab Lasagne, Crab and Avocado Salad, and the Veal Scaloppine have since gone on to become the restaurant's signature favourites. Congratulations!
37 Days until Paniyiri Greek Festival
It's just over a month until Brisbane officially goes Greek for two days when the acclaimed Paniyiri Greek Festival takes over the city in a haze of flavour-filled BBQ smoke and the music of Zorba. Famously diarised by all food, dance and festival goers for the third weekend in May, Paniyiri Greek Festival will be held over May 20 and 21 and will this year celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hellenic Dancers.

Brisbane start-ups are kicking goals all over the planet. Read about FunCaptcha's recent international success, ArtLife taking out Australia's only Creative Tech Start-up Weekend, and the innovation hub helping mines, minors and minds. Brisbane Powerhouse played host to Myriad at the end of March, and Digital Brisbane is set to host another packed out Power-Up next month on web design.
Sirromet Wines continues to grow in China
Sirromet Winery Cellar Door at Mount Cotton is now offering dedicated Mandarin speaking winery tours. Available 1pm each Saturday and Sunday, the 90-minute experience takes visitors behind the scenes of the state-of-the-art winery facility, gaining an insight into the winemaking process and concluding with a private wine tasting of 8 Sirromet wines.
Bombes away at Stokehouse Q
To celebrate Easter, Stokehouse Q’s Executive Chef Richard Ousby has created two limited edition twists on the restaurant’s signature dessert, The Bombe. Dine at the restaurant from 10 – 23 April and you’ll find the Lemon Myrtle and Wattleseed bombes on the menu.
